The Joint Effect submitted their debut album The Joint Effect to the 2012 Native American Music Awards in June of this year. The band is awaiting the announcement of the 2012 Nominees. Categories entered into by the band were Best Rock, Debut Duo or Group, Songwriter of the Year, Single of the Year and Native Heart for David Miller’s contribution on the album.
John Holata (Musocogee (Creek)/Seminole) and Eddie Mouss (Muscogee (Creek)/ Cherokee) are both enrolled members of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
Founded and incorporated in 1998, the Native American Music Awards are “the world’s first official and largest awards show for Native American Music Initiatives” according to www.nativeamericanmusicawards.com.
